What is Asbestos?
Asbestos is derived from (Greek a-, "not"; sbestos, "extinguishable") and is a group of fibrous metamorphic minerals, most commonly made up from Chrysotile, Amosite & Crocidolite.

Why is Asbestos dangerous?
Breathing in air containing asbestos fibres could lead to asbestos-related diseases, mainly cancers of the lungs and chest lining.

What does it look like?
This may depend on the material or product containing asbestos. It may be a floor tile, corrugated roof sheet, lining to a wall or ceiling, insulation to pipework and many more.

How do I know if I have any asbestos?
This is a very good question. You would never be able to positively identify an asbestos containing material unless a sample was obtained from the suspected material and tested by a UKAS accredited laboratory.

Do I need an asbestos survey?
If you are a Commercial or Industrial property owner you should already be aware of Regulation 4 of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, stating that those who have duties to manage asbestos in non-domestic premises are to start to take action and manage the risks from asbestos in their premises, in the form of surveys, risk and management plans.

Am I at risk?
No, providing the material is left in a good condition and remains undisturbed. If asbestos containing materials are disturbed - SEEK IMMEDIATE ADVICE

Where is the asbestos disposed?
In the U.K. Asbestos is taken to a licensed waste disposal site for Asbestos and Hazardous Waste Materials.

What costs are involved?
Each asbestos contract can vary from one extreme to another, therfore, prices and quotations are based individually after careful inspection to give the most competitive price.
